1. Bring Me Your Heart

Sometimes the part of you most in need of love is the part you have learned to keep out of sight.

You let people see what you can carry.

You keep the cost to yourself.

And when you come to Jesus, you may still feel the need to hold everything together.

But His invitation reaches beneath that strength.

You can bring Him the disappointment you have barely admitted to yourself. The longing you feel embarrassed to need. The words, “I thought I would be okay by now.”

You can let Him meet you there.

This morning, bring the heart that needs care.

Let the prayer be as honest as the ache.

Even if all you can say is, “Jesus, this is where I need You.”

“Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”

— Psalm 62:8, NIV

Prayer

Jesus,

I know how to be needed.
Help me let myself be loved.

I bring You what I have kept beneath the surface.

The hurt I keep trying to get over.
The need I keep trying to make smaller.

Here is my heart.

I want to open it to You.
And I am afraid.

Meet me in that small, honest place.

Let Your love reach what I have been guarding.

As I enter this day, help me leave my heart open to You.

I place what is tender in Your care.

Amen.

2. What I Cannot Control

The day has barely begun, and your mind may already be far ahead.

A conversation that has not happened.
An answer that has not come.
A future you keep trying to make certain.

You care deeply. And sometimes that care becomes a weight you carry everywhere.

This morning, bring Jesus the thing you keep returning to in your thoughts.

You can tell Him what you are afraid of losing. What you hope will happen. How difficult it feels to leave the outcome open.

There is room for that honesty in trust.

You can place something in His hands while your own hands are still learning to loosen.

Let this day be a place where you practice returning to His care. When the worry comes back, the prayer can come back, too.

“Jesus, I am trusting You with this again.”

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

— 1 Peter 5:7, NIV

Prayer

Jesus,

My mind has gone ahead of me.

I am already carrying things this day has not asked of me.

You know what I am afraid will happen.
You know how much I want everything to be okay.

I bring You the outcome I keep trying to secure.

Help me loosen my hold.

Give me wisdom for what is mine to do today.
And help me entrust the rest to You.

When the worry returns, receive me again.

Keep teaching my heart to rest in Your care.

Walk with me through the next faithful step.

Amen.

3. When I’m Tired of Being Strong

Some mornings, you wake up tired in a place sleep has barely touched.

You have been showing up. Answering. Caring. Doing what needed to be done.

And somewhere along the way, your own need for care became easy to overlook.

Before you give yourself to another day, bring that need to Jesus.

You can say, “I am tired.”

You can let those words be enough to begin.

His invitation makes room for the person beneath the responsibilities. The person who needs kindness, help, and somewhere to set down the weight.

Today, let yourself receive some of the care you so freely give.

Help with one task. A moment of rest. The honesty to say what you need.

You are someone to care for, too.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

— Matthew 11:28, NIV

Prayer

Jesus,

I am tired.

I have kept going, and I need Your care.

Help me set down the strength I keep putting on for everyone.

Receive me here, where I have little left to give.

Let me be honest about what I need today.

Show me where to welcome help.
Give me grace to receive it.

Let Your care reach the places I have been overlooking in myself.

As I move through this day, help me remember that I am loved even when I need to stop.

I place my weary heart in Your hands.

Amen.

4. You Know What I Need

Sometimes the day begins with numbers.

What is coming in.
What is waiting to be paid.
How far what you have will stretch.

You move through ordinary life while carrying that calculation inside.

Jesus welcomes the need beneath it.

You can bring Him the bill, the uncertain income, the decision you are afraid to make. You can tell Him how much you want to trust—and how frightened you feel.

Your Father knows what you need before you find the words to ask.

Let that truth give your prayer a place to begin.

“You know, Lord. Please help me.”

Today, bring Him the practical need and the tender heart carrying it. Ask for provision. Ask for wisdom. Let yourself receive help when it comes.

You can take the next step with your need honestly before Him.

“… your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”

— Matthew 6:8, NIV, excerpt

Prayer

Jesus,

I want to trust You.
And when I look at what I need, I become afraid.

You know the numbers.
You know what is waiting to be paid.
You know the weight I carry.

I bring You my need.

Please provide for me.

Guide my decisions.
Show me the next faithful step.

Help me recognize the help available to me and have the courage to receive it.

As I work and wait, keep my heart near You.

Let me receive Your care in this day, even while some answers are still unfolding.

Amen.

Morning with Jesus

Quiet Enough to Listen | Learning to Listen and Trust

“In quietness and trust is your strength.”
Isaiah 30:15 (NIV)

Jesus,

Before I answer the demands of this day, help me quiet my heart and listen to You.

When my thoughts rush ahead, bring my attention back to Your presence. Teach me to make room for Your Word before reaching for another answer.

Help me trust You with what remains unfinished, uncertain, or beyond my control. Give me patience to wait and courage to follow as You lead.

I do not have to hurry to be held, or have every answer to be led.

Let quietness and trust become the strength I carry into this day.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
